MINI MART MERAJALELA

Seperti yang kita semua ketahui, keberadaan minimart seperti Alfamart , Indomart, Yomart, Circle K dan lainnya sangat membantu siapapun dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan seperti makanan ringan, alat tulis, alat mandi dan apapun nampaknya ada di minimart tersebut. Apalagi saat ini keberadaan minimart tersebut sudah sangat banyak tersebar diberbagai sudut kota. Bukan lagi menjadi pemandangan yang asing, bila dalam 1 wilayah pemukiman misalnya ada Indomart dan dalam selisih 5-7meter disampingnya terdapat Alfamart atau Circle K. begitu pula dengan keberadaanya di kota Bandung, minimart-minimart tersebut banyak tersebar didaerah pemukiman kost-kostan yang memudahkan bagi anak kost atau mahasiswa itu sendiri untuk memenuhi kebutuhan mereka. Tapi ada yang disayangkan dari tersebarnya keberadaan minimart tersebut di berbagai wilayah, yaitu dengan dijualnya alat kontrasepsi (kondom) separti sutra dan fiesta serta minuman beralkohol seperti vodka mix max secara bebas. Vodka mix max itu sendiri dijual dengan pengiklanan embel-embel bebas alkohol, namun efek setelah meminum vodka mix max itu sendiri adalah pusing-pusing atau bahkan bisa hilang kesadaran. Yang lebih memprihatinkan lagi ialah, ada 1 cabang Alfamart yang sedang melakukan promo untuk produk kondom itu sendiri yang harganya hanya Rp. 5.500,-. Itu merupakan harga yang sangat terjangkau, hal ini justru lebih memudahkan dalam pendapatan barang yang tidak baik tersebut. Dan untuk vodka mix max, produk tersebut juga diletakan dilemari pendingin yang dapat ditemukan oleh siapapun dengan sangat mudah. Dengan warna vodka mix max yang berwarna-warni membuat konsumen menjadi tertarik. Apalagi dengan tulisan dikemasan vodka mix max bahwa minuman tersebut non-alkohol. Tapi pada kenyataannya tidak demikian.Hal yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi atau mengatisipasi masalah ini ialah pihak pengelola minimart tersebut tidak sembarangan dalam mengadakan promo terhadap barang-barang yang tidak lazim. Dan untuk vodka mix max juga sebaiknya tidak di letakan di lemari pendingin yang dapat di lihat oleh siapa saja, jadi dengan maksud boleh lah pihak minimart tersebut menyetok kondom dan minuman beralkohol, namun tidak untuk di pajang. Jadi, orang yang ingin membeli produk tersebut harus meminta izin dahulu dengan pihak yang bertanggung jawab dalam minimart tersebut, dan pihak minimart juga jangan sampai salah menjual produk tersebut kepada orang yang salah, jadi bila misalnya ada yang ingin membeli sebaiknya periksalah KTP (kartu pengenal lainnya) agar dapat diketahui usia konsumen tersebut. Dan bias juga dilakukan dengan penandatangan surat keterangan yang berisikan alamat dan nomor telepon orang tua. Karena teman saya pernah mengalami hal ini, ketika ia sedang merasa amat tertekan oleh keadaan yang jauh dari orang tua, karena ia kuliah di Bandung dan di samping kostannya tersebut adalah Alfamart yang menyediakan vodka mix max di dalamnya, dengan iseng-iseng ia membeli dan meninumnya, alhasil ia jadi pusing-pusing dan 3 hari tidak nafsu makan hingga akhirnya masuk rumah sakit untuk di opname. Berawal dari vodka mix max yang hanya berharga Rp.11.5000,- dapat menimbulkan masalah yang berujung dengan harga ratusan ribu rupiah. Dan karena Alfamart tersebut berada di samping kostan setiap ada masalah ia selalu berkeinginan untuk membeli vodka mix max.

Haruskah tunas bangsa generasi penerus ini tercemar oleh barang-barang yang tidak penting seperti itu, karena hasrat untuk membeli itu bukan hanya muncul karena adanya keinginan namun juga karena danya kesempatan, coba saja bayangkan bila dalam mendapat barang-barang itu harus dilalui dengan cara yang sulit, konsumen yang hanya iseng-iseng untuk mencicipi bagaimana rasanya juga jadi malas untuk mengurusinya. Hal ini hanya sebagai kecil contoh dari adanya kebebasan dalam transaksi jual beli, hal ini hanya dari 1 contoh kejadian di satu minimart, bagaimana dengan minimart-minimart dicabang lain, di tempat lain, ratusan bahkan ribuan cabang minimart itu tersebar di seluruh pelosok Indonesia, haruskah kebebasan yang seharusnya memudahkan segala kondisi agar bias menjadi lebih baik malah jadi meperburuk keadaan.

 

Marilah kita perangi bersama alat-alat yang dapat merusak moral dan perilaku anak bangsa Indonesia.  Anak bangsa yang hebat itu bukan yang mabuk-mabukan, anak bangsa yang keren itu bukan yang sudah sering “ml”. tapi anak bangsa yang baik adalah anak bnagsa yang berani mengeluarkan pendapat dan merubah sesuatu kearah yang lebih baik. Lebih baik terlambat, lebih baik perlahan dari pada tidak sama sekali.

 

Fast Food Effects on Health

In today’s age of convenience, fast food needs no introduction. Everyone from a 2-year-old toddler to a 60-year-old grandpa seems to be enjoying it every chance they get. And why not? It’s delicious, it’s filling, is really affordable, and readily available just any time of the day, being only a drive through phone call away. What more can you ask for when you are living life in the fast lane?

Well, plenty – fast food is all good tasting, except that it is not nutritionally balanced and, therefore, unhealthy in the long run if consumed on a regular basis.

Fast food is loaded with calories from refined sugar and fats (especially, the artery-clogging saturated and hydrogenated fats, which are repeatedly reheated to high temperatures for frying purposes).

It is also very high in sodium, coming from common salt and other additives. On top of all this, fast food is deficient in dietary fiber and essential micro-nutrients like vitamins and minerals.

To make matters worse, heaps of fast food are normally guzzled down with gallons of sugar-rich colas – which many fast-food restaurants serve free with food as an incentive.

To make a long story short, all this results in piling up of unused empty calories in the body, which get stored as body fat – till one day you look in the mirror and realize that your great figure has been replaced by this creature in the mirror.

But that’s not the end of the story, it’s just the beginning – consuming too much fast food not only turns a handsome guy into an unsightly obese man, but as Eric Schlosser points out in his book it is a big health hazard too.

And being physically inactive only adds to the problem of obesity. Not many people who love fast food are ready to acknowledge that obesity is not simply an eyesore – it is a major risk factor for a large number of deadly diseases like hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, and even many types of cancers.

Recent scientific studies have shown that high-calorie foods rich in fats, refined sugar and salt could reconfigure the hormones in the body in such a way that they make you crave for such foods and always leave you asking for more.

In other words, fast food is kind of addictive; you get hooked on to it and continue consuming it in an uncontrolled way in spite of knowing that it is unhealthy. The more you consume, the more difficult it is for you to opt for healthy foods.

The situation is worse in case of children who from a very young age get hooked on fast food. Making them change their food habits from fatty and sweet foods and develop a taste for health-promoting fruits and vegetables is a task easier said than done. Such children would grow up to be obese adults who have never felt the advantages of being a healthy weight.

To sum up, consuming fast food on a regular basis leads to many health hazards. But bringing about changes in eating habits is not easy.

To start with, a simple change that one could make is to successively reduce the frequency of eating fast food and eat more frequently home-cooked food, with plenty of fresh foods and vegetables.

Slowly your taste will change and your body will respond with new found energy. That doesn't mean you can never have fast food again. All it means is that you cut the fast food way back. I still occasionally(once a month) will have my #1 at McDonalds. Big Mac Rules!
